Meta-Analysis Indicates Co-Occurrence of Breast Ca and DTC

Patients who survive breast cancer are at an increased risk for being diagnosed with differentiated thyroid cancer as a secondary malignancy, and vice versa, according to a team of investigators in Chicago.

The results of their meta-analysis, published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention (2016;25[2]:231-238), confirm a link between these two malignancies that had long been suspected, but never confirmed.

The investigators queried the PubMed and Scopus databases for
