More Screening Needed for Non-Cervical HPV-Related Cancers

The incidence of cervical cancer in the United States has decreased annually by 1.53% in the last 17 years, but the incidences of HPV-related cancers without standardized screening, especially oropharyngeal, anal and rectal squamous cell carcinoma, have increased and are projected to surpass that of cervical cancer within five years for certain at-risk groups, according to a recent study.
