In Meta-Analysis, Multitarget Liquid Biopsy Superior for Early HCC Detection

The results of a recent meta-analysis indicate that multitarget hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) liquid biopsy is more sensitive than either ultrasound or alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) alone for detecting HCC in patients with cirrhosis, and notably for identifying early-stage HCC. The test was not found to be more sensitive than using ultrasound and AFP together.
