More Needs to Be Done to Address Financial Toxicity in AYA Cancer Patients

More than half of adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with cancer who experience financial toxicity do not accept financial assistance referrals, according to a new study. The study, presented at the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Care Symposium (abstract 13), also found that roughly half of AYA patients undergoing cancer treatment experience financial toxicity.
