Screening Siblings of Newborns With Cancer Mutations Could Avert Related Deaths

Genetically testing siblings of newborns with pediatric cancer gene mutations—a targeted screening approach known as sibling cascade testing—would cut related cancer deaths by 50% and lead to overall cost savings compared with usual care, according to a recent study.
