Danish researchers have reported two contrasting sets of results regarding the association between diabetes and breast density in women over 50 years of age. In findings presented at the 2016 European Breast Cancer Conference (poster 158), they found that diabetic women who manage their diabetes with diet or noninsulin medications are almost 40% less likely then their nondiabetic peers to have mixed or dense breasts.
